As part of my research with the 3DX Research Group, I conducted experiments to visualize the flow from shower heads developed by my group member Yash Mistry. Factoring in safety considerations and the resources available to my research group, I chose to use water and dye flow visualization.

The showerhead is submerged into a tank of water and fed from an inlet above it. I developed a test rig to mount the showerheads in with a gravity fed water reservoir above. Below the water tank, I mounted a DSLR and light boxes. A secondary view is given by a GoPro is mounted inside the tank. A white backing is installed on three walls and the top of the tank to improve clarity and reflect light.

I was very fortunate to have the chance to present on my work and the work of my collaborators at the SCALE HAIP February 2024 Conference.
