Macro Keyboard
A macro keyboard is a small keyboard that has keys mapped to “macros” which can perform various tasks. These macros could be as simple as shortening a keybind from multiple keystrokes, or as complicated as running a script which automates a repetitive task until the key is pressed again.
The keyboard has 3 modes that can be switched using the toggle switch on the right side of the case. Eight keys, a rotary encoder knob, and the button inside the knob can be programmed to a unique macro in each mode.
This was one of my first electronics projects and I learned a lot. It improved my soldering skills, taught me how to create a basic wiring diagram, and gave me practice coding the keyboard from scratch.
